Platform Release Information - Current Version: 4.8

Notice: Please use Chrome or Firefox when working in IDA until further notice. There are known bugs in Internet Explorer that we are working on resolving. Survey sites in IE are functioning.

Current IDC Web browser compatibility:

Supported Web Browsers:

  • Internet Explorer 10.0, (including Edge) and newer
  • Firefox 35 and newer
  • Chrome 40 and newer
  • Safari 7.0 and newer

Supported Mobile Operating Systems

  • Android 7.0 and newer
  • iOS 10 - Safari Browser and newer

Respondents using IE 9 and older, Firefox 19 and older, Chrome 22 and older, Safari 5 and older will be redirected to the legacy site. Respondents using IE 6 and older and Firefox 2.0 and older cannot expect full functionality.

Note: Browsers that are not listed here, and versions of listed browsers that are neither supported nor redirected to legacy IDC, may work. However they are not officially supported and will not be redirected to legacy IDC.

Note: We are aware of the following issues with Asian characters:
- On an English computer, clicking the view link to download reports with Asian characters in the file name: IE sometimes will mess up the Asian Characters of the file name. Chrome and Firefox do not have this issue and may be used if needed.
- In the PDF Reports, Asian characters are dependent upon Asian fonts. And, Asian fonts do not support ASCII characters. So, If you run an English Report for a participant with Asian characters in their name, the name will not display properly.

Contact idasupport@humansynergistics.com with bugs or question. Please include relevant project information (e.g., project name, ID, upload files).

  • OCI/OEI Change Report - with this report, you can view how the results of OCI/OEI has changed between a project and a previous one. It uses the OCI Change report as its base and adds in comparisons of causal factors and individual, group, and organizational outcomes as measured by the OEI. In addition, both this and the OCI Change report now sort the “Comparative Change across OCI Styles” slide according to degree of desirable change, instead of fixed cluster order. The OCI/OEI Change report is initially available in US English and will roll out to other languages as translations become available. To generate the new report, select OCI/OEI Change Report from the OCI/OEI Matched Reports as your Report Type.
  • RP Consent Message - on the RP email entry screen, there’s a message that informs users by proceeding, they agree to the linked privacy policy. Currently, it’s available in US English and German. Additional languages will be added as we get them translated.
  • Color usage for improved accessibility - we’ve updated our colors on IDC so they meet WCAG 2.0’s standards for AA compliance. This helps users with vision problems in distinguishing the elements on the screen.
  • We've also put in some miscellaneous enhancements and fixes, including:
    • IDC
      • Fixed: Characters with diacritics were not rendering correctly
      • Upgraded a third-party library that had a security vulnerability
    • RP
      • Improved the performance of displaying report and circumplex thumbnails

      • Fixed: on an iPad, clicking on Files opened a black pop-up
      • Fixed: GSI reports were not loading if the group had an “&” in its name
      • Fixed: GSI interactive reports were showing the numeric scale flipped for Group Commitment and Time Effectiveness

V 4.8 Org and Ind IDA 9.3 Release June 21, 2019

  • Org Respondent List Bulk Edits – When managing large Org projects, we often receive many bounce backs due to incorrect emails. Now you can import corrections and re-send invitations in a few easy steps. To check out this feature, go to the Respondents tab in an org project, click “Email Corrections”, then click the help bubble for more info.
  • Org Drop Down Demographic Option – Single-level demographic questions can now be set up as dropdown questions. You’ll see this setting on the demographic customization page. “List” is the standard setting, and “Drop Down” is the new option.
  • IDC Survey Browser Limitations: As previously announced, we’re restricting survey access to browsers from 2012 and newer (approximately). Our IDC surveys sites will only support the browsers listed below. Survey respondents will get a friendly error message informing them to use a newer browser.
    • Internet Explorer 10.0, (including Edge) and newer
    • Firefox 35 and newer
    • Chrome 40 and newer
    • Safari 7.0 and newer
  • Minor improvement/bug fixes/updates to IDA architecture:
    • Improvement to survey text management: We’ve moved all survey text into our XML files. This should have little to no impact on our users; it’s a big improvement we made to better support future IDA development.
    • IDC Survey vulnerability remediation: This means improved survey security. Also, when clients request vulnerability scans, we can show them a better report.
    • GSI/Portal Code fixes to accommodate new translations
    • Org Custom Rating Section: Added support for importing the Rating section type
    • LSI Conflict in IDA Circ: now allows for languages other than English (e.g., Romanian)
    • Many various bug fixes

V 4.7 IDA (9.2), Portals (2.2), and Org Reports (5.2) Releases March 10, 2019

New Features
  • OCI-OEI surveys for "membership organizations"

We have added our first "variant" survey for the OCI-OEI. We have modified specific survey items, primarily removing the word "customer", and instead focusing on "clients." We've made the same relevant edits to the reporting outputs. The variant surveys can be administered as OCI Only, OEI Only, or OCI-OEI matched. (Note: The word “client” in the survey is used to differentiate the people being served from the paid “members” (e.g., administrative staff) of the organization.) This variant currently is available in English US and AU, but is ready for translating.

Definition of “Membership Organizations”: Religious and other Membership Organizations (for which the “clients” being served also have “membership” status). Appropriate for non-profit and not-for-profit organizations.

  • Org PowerPoint Checkboxes

OCI, OEI, and OCI-OEI PowerPoints are now totally flexible in terms of the slides you'd like to include in each PowerPoint Deck that you produce. Also, you may request (via IDA Support) that specific configurations be added to your platform. Per the screenshot below, you can include/exclude various sections in the deck.

Minor Improvements/Bug Fixes
  • Org PPTs Headers - Addition of client/focal group name to slide header and cover. This is intended to clarify the group for which the report was run, without requiring the IDA user to manually type the group name in to the Custom Cover Text field.
  • Improvements to IDC offline functionality - the IDA team will now be able to notify survey respondents of upcoming maintenance windows. Then, when we take down survey sites during these windows, we will be able to provide the scheduled up time.
  • Ind Status Report Update - we now indicate insufficient N for breakouts using * (HS AU/NZ Request)
  • Allow Editing of HLM Consent Text - HLM Consent text can now be edited in IDC Customize section (HS Germany Request)
  • Additional logging for Respondent Portal - We have added logging of survey access via Respondent Portal so we can better troubleshoot client issues
  • CSSS Now in IDA Circ
  • IDC Inserted Image Fix: We have fixed the problem with images inserted in to IDC. They are now being centered properly. (Reported by multiple users but most recently by HS Canada)

V 4.6.1 Org RG 5.1.1 Hot Fix Release January 16, 2019

  • OCI Report Comparatives calculation bug fix. In some cases, a bug in the calculation was causing some respondents to be ignored when determining top and bottom 15%. Re-running reports could result in minor differences, though impact on comparative profiles is expected to be low.

V 4.6 Org and Ind IDA 9.0.1 and GSI and Portals 2.1 December 14, 2018

IDA Improvements

  • Language Status Reports improvements – We added a new table “Invited Survey Counts by Language,” and it correctly accounts for the language selected by the respondent. This is in addition to the Submitted Survey Counts by Language table.
  • Org Respondent List template file now only includes languages in project
  • Improvements in IDA for GSI project management

IDC/Survey Improvements

  • Improved IDC load capabilities. IDC has been proven to handle 1000 users within 5 minutes and another 1000 within 25 minutes immediately after with impact on IDC speed.
  • We’ve added clarity to OCI-OEI Matched Surveys header (Introduction page of OCI and OEI says “Survey 1IDC/Survey of 2” and “Survey 2 of 2”
  • Improvements to survey sites for screen readers. We have taken steps to be ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) compliant. We haven’t completed our work here, but have made incremental improvements.
  • Vulnerability improvements for increased security. We will be re-running our website vulnerability test next weekend.
  • Better error messaging when a survey respondent tries to open two surveys (or the same survey twice) within the same browser
  • Respondent consent functionality simplification – since we now obtain respondent consent using text in the survey invitations, we’ve pared back the existing respondent consent functionality (removing all of the outdated consent text). If your client would like us to collect consent for any reason, the client may provide customized consent text specific to their needs.

Portal Improvements

  • User Interface improvements in the Portals. These improvements are based on feedback from users and a user experience expert. We removed the email verification step in Respondent Portal, clarified some instruction text, made most clickable links and buttons blue, among other things. We have more work to do here.
  • Prepared GSI and the portals for use in other languages. GSI can now be translated. Please note that GSI projects will be single language only (no mixing of languages). You will add credits for your users by language, and all existing credits have been converted to English US GSI (rather than just generic GSI).
  • Improvements to logs for RP troubleshooting
  • Fix to RP for first time users: respondents in our database who have taken a survey before but have never logged into RP. Now they will be prompted to create a password.

Reports

  • CSSS now exports custom demographics (what? You didn’t know that it didn’t do this before? Neither did I!)

V 4.5 Org RG 5.1 Release November 30, 2018

  • OCI and OCI-OEI PPTs in updated, wide screen template
  • OEI Subgroup PDF Report
  • OEI Supplemental Question PDF Report
  • OCI Ideal Only PowerPoint (no subgroups)

  • OEI PDF report is now available (PPT and other peripheral reports are in development to be released over the next few months)
  • Reporting support for the supplementary “Rating” question type
  • Multi-language Relationship Management Improvement: IDA now has an improved interface to handle custom relationships in IND projects. This will prevent errors you may have experienced in adding custom relationships.
  • Variant Surveys – behind-the-scenes improvements for future variant surveys. We are developing variations to org surveys. The work we’ve done is in preparation for the new survey variations, such as OCI Preview and OEI for non-business organizations.
  • “Valid but Unsubmitted” table has been added to the Status Report tab, for informational purposes
  • IDA performance enhancements
  • Large project improvements in IDC
  • And finally, we’ve implemented a fix to the bug that was causing occasional errors when new coordinators were added.

V 4.3 IDA - Org and Ind IDA 8.2 and CP/RP 2.0 Released April 13, 2018

New Features

  • Pre-code options– available in English US only, translations in progress through GEO.
    • Level 1 Lock - A pre-coding method that allows the respondent’s pre-code at the top level of a multi-level hierarchy to be locked (uneditable) by the respondent.
    • Opt-Out Only - A pre-coding method that allows respondents to “opt out” of a question, but not change the pre-code.
    • Forced - A pre-coding method that does not allow respondents to change or opt out of precoded demographic questions. This option is turned off on most IDA platforms by default. Write to IDA Support if there is a client need.
  • Supplementary Question footnote for copyright purposes
  • OCI-OEI Matched Survey Demographics can be displayed on OEI
  • New Org Survey Supplementary Question Section Types:
    • Fixed Response with Open-Ended Question
    • New Section Type “Rating” Supplementary Question Type with Drop Down Selector (plus option to include Open-Ended Questions) – Export data only, no Supp Q report output yet
  • Hiding of entire demographics section on IND surveys. Use carefully and only when necessary as we collect this data for research purposes. Some surveys will not allow you to make the change yourself, email IDA Support for assistance
  • GSI Interactive Report in Client and Respondent Portals for US and AU Platforms

Improvements

  • Pre-code instructions are now editable. Edit with caution, make sure to retain the original intention of the text if making an edit.
  • IND Respondent Spreadsheet will now include custom relationships added to the project
  • Privacy Policy can now be set by platform. Each office will be asked to write their own Privacy Policy for IDA Surveys soon (email from Katharina forthcoming) and will need to be placed on each office’s public website. The Privacy Policies will be placed on each office’s website.
  • Restriction of demographic questions inclusion for multi-instrument projects. If a section is excluded on OCI, it cannot be included on Ideal. If a section is included on OCI, it can be excluded on Ideal. (Note: you can still exclude/include individual response options but use with caution on pre-coded projects; we will likely restrict in the future as it is problematic)
  • Pre-code checking for Standard precoding – flags respondents with missing precodes
  • Filters added to IND respondent list. This only works on Self, not Respondent.
  • Help and Privacy Policy links have been added to the introductory survey pages
  • Refinements to labels/headers in IDA for CSSS projects
  • IND Project Status Report now sorted by first name
  • Recording “survey language submitted” in database to support future language usage reports

Bug Fixes

  • Disallowing of illegal characters in names of Client Login folders
  • Fixed a bug that prevented reports with special characters (e.g., ü) in the name from being downloaded via Client Login
  • And many more

V 4.0 ORG RG Release March 16, 2018

  • OCI Culture Change Report PPTs - Full and Abbreviated versions of the new OCI Culture Change Reports
  • Minor update to OCI-OEI and OCI PDF Reports and Supplementary Question PDF Reports - Can now handle HTML formatting in supplementary questions

V 3.4 ORG RG Release February 22, 2018

  • ORG Report Zip Packs – OCI Detailed Report and OCI-OEI Feedback reports can now be run as Zip Packs. The report contents are the same as the original reports, however, the report is broken up into separate PDF files to ease distribution to clients. The purpose of the Zip Pack is to give more control to the consultant when distributing reports to their client. For instance, the Executive Summary can be provided first, then the main report, then the subgroup section. The Table of Contents file delineates the contents of each PDF file. Also, the section pages now include a portion of the Table of Contents relevant to that section of the report.
  • OCI Excel Scores – OCI scores from the Detailed Report are now available in an Excel file. This should be used as a supplement to the OCI Detailed Report as an easy way to look at data, or pull results for PowerPoint creation purposes. (Note: while we’d like to create this for the OCI-OEI report, we have not scheduled it for development yet).
  • OCI Detailed Report and OCI-OEI Feedback Report section pages now include mini-table of contents.
  • Minor bug fixes

V 3.3 ORG RG Release December 18, 2017

V 4.2 IDA - Org and Ind IDA 8.1 and CP/RP 1.1 Released December 2,2017

The following is a partial list of the some of the 175 cases we included in this release.

Features and Improvements

  • IDA - IND: Added Language Selection to Individual-Level surveys
  • IDA/IDC: Can now turn off Comments in LWS surveys (see Customize IDC/RSF tab) (requested by various IDA users)
  • IDA - Cloning: Cloning a project with an out-of-date XML will produce a warning PRIOR to cloning (rather than after cloning). Also a note will be added to new project with the previous project's ID.
  • IDA - Create Project: Added "Sample/Test" checkbox to "Create Project" page
  • IDA - Customize Email: Added First and Last Name tags for respondents in the email editor (requested by Anne-Cecile Danger)
  • IDA - Customize Org Demographics: We hid the Client Code field in Org Demographics since it's not currently tied to any functionality
  • IDA - Customize: Removed the "Save & Close Editor" button on the customize email, pages, and items tabs to save space and remove a superfluous button.
  • IDA - IND Reports: Any time a relationship is updated on the participant tab, the relationship on the Reports tab will update as well UNLESS the Reports Tab relationship is already different from the Participants tab (Requested by Alysun Johns)
  • IDA - Left Nav: Can now filter out Sample/Test projects and refine project list by additional status options
  • IDA - Logging: We've added additional logging to IDA that tracks when admins log in and access projects. This will help with tech support and data privacy concerns.
  • IDA - Search: Search Database can now find GSI respondents
  • IDC - Edge Browser: General IDC improvements for Edge browser
  • IDA/GSI: Updates to IDA for GSI functionality (can now fully administer GSIs through IDA OR Client Portal)
  • IDA - Coordinator: We refined how IDA behaves when a person is added but already exists in another form in our database (coord, admin, resp)
  • Client Portal: Coordinators can now edit the group for a respondent even after the survey has been started or submitted.
  • Respondent Portal: Respondent Portal will now require an email address verification step so new respondents cannot access the account using a bad/fake email address.
  • …and many more general minor IDA refinements that you may not know you need until you need them

Admin Portal

The IDA team has developed a portal that we can use to more easily fulfill some of your requests. The Admin Portal will reduce turn around time for requests and make everybody's live a bit easier.

  • IDA team can more easily restore accidentally deleted respondents within 30 days of deletion (the big "OOPS" of the past is now slightly less tragic)
  • IDA team can more easily manually delete data files for respondents recently deleted by IDA admins
  • IDA team can more easily pull language usage statistics

Bug Fixes

  • IDA - Notes: Fixed an error in the Notes tab caused by hard returns. (Reported by various IDA users)
  • IDA - Cloning: Fixed an issue with cloning projects that contained special character in the Project Name (Reported by Mary Himmel)
  • IDA - IND Respondents Tab: Fixed IND relationship overwriting bug when "Show All" button is clicked (Reported by Sarah Petersen)
  • IDA - Pre-coding: Leading and trailing spaces in hierarchy items caused pre-coding issues. IDA now trims spaces in hierarchy items to prevent issues during respondent import with pre-coding. (Reported by various IDA users)
  • IDA Coordinators: Removed the ability to delete a Coordinator, given that credit history will now be tied to coordinators who use GSI. Coordinators can be switched to Inactive instead of deleted.
  • IDA - Customize IDC: Restricted the ability to include/exclude a response option in OEI in an OCI-OEI project (to prevent IDA bugs)
  • RSF: RSF error when translation does not exist - will display English instead of error page. Please check translation grid for language availability
  • Client Login: Updated code to properly clear out expired reports from Client Login (Reported by Lilac Kordansky)
  • CP/RP: Fixed a missing text bug in Client Portal and Respondent Portal in browsers that were not set to English US.
  • …and many more minor IDA/IDC/CP/RP bug fixes and refinements

ORG RG 3.2 - Multi-language Reporting, OCI-OEI PPT Update, Minor Bug Fixes release November 15, 2017

  • Org Report handling of multi-language reports:
    • Previously, IDA was not fully equipped to handle reports in multiple languages with the same project. We’ve made enhancements to the interface to allow users to re-name subgroups by language (see the Data Groups tab).
    • Also, if you are running an OCI-OEI report in a language that is not added to the project, IDA will now handle this for you. You will not be required to add the language to the project. NOTE: This change does not apply to OCI. OCI reports that are run in a language that is not in the project will continue to use the project’s primary language for the survey items (this was a request by multiple users).
    • Additional tweaks, fixes, and enhancements have been made to better support report production in non-English US languages.
  • OCI-OEI PPT – We added the mini circumplexes to IBI slides (similar to the PDF report). No change to OCI PPT yet.
  • OCI PPT - We added the data tables for the Outcomes and Readiness for Change items. No change to OCI-OEI PPT yet.
  • Performance improvements for large ORG projects – the changes that we made could result in minor slowdowns for smaller projects, please provide feedback.
  • Comments Export in Excel with Litho – we added this feature to fulfill specific project requests. (this feature is only turned on for the US and AU platforms at this time)
  • Minor bug fixes

IDA V4.0 and 4.1 - IDA Database and Refactoring Update and subsequent feature release (release dates different for platforms, March through September 2017)

  • IDA database restructuring – resulted in revised project ID, coordinator and admin account linking, and major behind-the-scenes improvements
  • OCI-OEI Subgroup Report - This report is comparable to the OCI Subgroup Report, and is as subset of the OCI-OEI report. It’s comprised of the 3 subgroups sections from the larger OCI-OEI report. In addition, there are tweaks and minor updates to existing Org reports.
  • Circ Generator – The IDA Circ Generator is now available via IDA. We will eventually decommission the externally located Circ Generator
  • Credits – There is a new “Credits” tab in the Coordinators section of IDA. This is for future functionality!
  • Update to a few LI and MI translations
  • Minor text/formatting updates to OCI Reports
  • MEPS Report BETA - You can now administer MEPS surveys and run MEPS reports via IDA. See important notes attached regarding using the MEPS Report Generator in BETA!
  • Individual Respondent List Import – Duplicate Handling: if a Participant is duplicated in the respondent list, IDA will now ignore that Participant and his or her raters.

Bug Fixes

  • LI Norm Fixes - We made a small fix to the LI V2 norms. The Affiliative style had a typo at the 22nd percentile, shifting all scores down by one. We will be replacing V2 instead of adding a V3 version, so please note that if you re-run and compare reports, it's possible the percentile score for Affiliative would change.
  • Org Report Supplementary Question Section Fixes - This resolves the issue with running reports for projects that contain duplicate supplementary question section titles
  • LWS Report Bug Fixes - This includes fixes to the Composite Interface and other minor bugs in the report generator
  • RSF fixes - this fix prevents new raters from being added when the focal individual has been reported, plus other small bug fixes
