Culture Mirror™ Survey & Process
A brief survey and report designed for organizations striving to understand and improve “the way we work” and organizational adaptability, inclusion, and effectiveness in the new world of work.
The Culture Mirror survey enables you to monitor, rejuvenate, and sustain your organization’s development journey. With actionable insights, your leaders and change teams can revisit, reflect on, and address your organization’s culture and adaptability.
This concise survey solution captures the extent to which the current interpersonal climate of your organization mirrors its culture. The Culture Mirror can be used independently or after the administration of the Organizational Culture Inventory® (OCI®) to reveal patterns of behaviours (positive or negative) that may have evolved during challenging times. Results from the Mirror can also be compared to your Ideal OCI profile or to our Historical Ideal profile to check on your organization’s movement toward a high-performance culture.
Positive trends identified by such comparisons can be reinforced and built upon; negative trends can be addressed and reversed to enhance adaptability, inclusion, and effectiveness.
The Importance of Measuring, Reflecting, and Refining Plans in the New World of Work
This may be one of the most important and appropriate times ever to measure and reflect on the way members of your organization approach their work and interact with one another. Further, the array of changes and challenges currently facing organizations makes it critical for your leaders and managers to understand the way they’re working and consider how they might do things better.
A recent edition of The New Workplace in the Wall Street Journal (5-8-22), entitled “The Biggest Challenges for a Hybrid Workplace,” began by explaining that navigating this transition encompasses “pretty much every aspect of management.” Challenges delineated by this and/or other writings include, for example: recognizing the differences across people, the requirements of their roles, and their needs; compensating for the decrease in informal on-site conversations that promote learning and coordination; on-boarding new employees in a virtual or hybrid environment; identifying problems that truly require face-to-face discussion; communicating and maintaining performance standards; rewarding and motivating people; and reinforcing and maintaining norms and expectations.
Quantifying challenges around cultural norms and expectations is particularly important. Doing so is critical for dealing effectively with not only other challenges around hybrid but also navigating from one phase of the pandemic and its aftermath to the next. The way your people work determines the effectiveness of their problem solving and, in turn, the ability of your organization to adapt to continuing disruptions in technology, turbulence on the international front, supply chain issues, and changes in the economy and consumer preferences.
