A Merger of True Synergistic Capabilities
Dear Clients and Consulting Associates,
It is a pleasure to inform you that Human Synergistics of Plymouth MI is now
under my ownership along with Human Synergistics/Center for Applied Research,
Arlington Heights IL. I am also pleased to announce the opening of our third
office, Human Synergistics/Acumen in Emeryville CA, to spearhead our exclusive
distributorship of Acumen International’s WorkStyles products.
My warmest thanks to the families of J. Clayton Lafferty, founder of HS, and
John Thompson, founder of Acumen, for making this merger possible and
entrusting me with the stewardship of the organizations they created and
nurtured. It was a privilege to work closely with Clay and John on the
development of so many of our products—and I am honored to serve as CEO
of our combined companies and have the opportunity to preserve their legacies
by elevating our research and products to new heights.
The synergies offered by bringing together our three companies enable us to
solidify our commitment to providing you with superior service and the highest
quality materials for individual, leadership, team, and organizational
development. Our goals and plans for the future are “challenging, yet
realistic.” We will intensify our research and development efforts on
existing materials (including the Organizational Culture Inventory, Leadership
WorkStyles, and Desert Survival) to provide you with more
knowledge to support their use and with new options for administration and
debriefing. We will increase our investment in the creation and validation of
new and updated products—and look forward to introducing over the next
year the circumplex-based Customer Service Styles Survey, an updated
version of the Life Styles Inventory, and Management/Impact (for
mid- and entry-level managers). And, we remain committed to facilitating your
training and development endeavors through the streamlining of our operations
and the development of efficient support via the use of Web-based systems.
Globally, our objectives are to ensure that HS products and processes are
world-class and available in as many languages and locations as practical.
Recent international developments include the launching of our new affiliate
office in Romania, the introduction of an accreditation program by HS/Germany,
and the engagement of consulting associates in Japan and Korea. We will
continue to expand our staff and open additional offices both in the US and
abroad—and will do so in a manner that most effectively supports you in
implementing projects that are international in scope.
