Creating the Ideal Culture for your Organization
Dr. Robert A. Cooke, CEO of Human Synergistics International and Author of the Organizational Culture Inventory® (OCI) and other renowned surveys presented at The Metropolitan Club in Willis Tower, Chicago.
As part of the experience, attendees completed a version of the Organizational Culture Inventory (OCI) that captures perceptions around what is an ideal corporate culture. Some of the attendees parted with their surveys in order to contribute to and receive a computer generated composite from Human Synergistics (shown on page 1 of the pdf OCI Ideal Report). The profile shows that the Metropolitan Club ideal profile, like most other ideals generated in North America, accentuates the Constructive styles and minimizes the Defensive styles. More specifically, the profile is very similar to the “Historical Ideal Culture Profile” used in client feedback reports (see page 3) and even slightly less Defensive along styles like Competitive, Avoidance, and Dependent (page 6). Additionally, the results show that the amount of agreement among attendees regarding the ideal was quite high—per the “intensity” results presented on page 2.
These results once again underscore the importance and appropriateness of constructive behavioral norms for enhancing member engagement and organizational adaptability. Click here to view the OCI Ideal Report
